Poulton-le-Fylde station entance is on the Breck Road bridge, above the platforms. A free car park is through a gate to the left of the entrance, and cycle racks and taxis are outside the ticket hall. From the ticket hall, with counter and lift (only operational during staffing hours), stairs lead to the platforms with toilets and waiting room.

On 1 July 1899 a new curve was opened at Poulton-le-Fylde to complete the triangle of lines between Kirkham Fleetwood Blackpool. Poulton Curve Halt was opened on this section on 1 February 1909.

The Poulton to Fleetwood railway line is one of an initial 199 bids in the Ideas Fund round of the programme. The fabulous news is that it's now one of just nine schemes which will receive funding to carry out further development work. The initial business case went into government in April 2021.
